Word stemming from the Italian media on Friday suggests that Arsenal have thrown their hat in the ring amid the ongoing race for the signature of Juventus star Paulo Dybala.
The long-awaited bombshell news surrounding Argentine international Dybala was of course made official late in March.
On the back of a meeting between those in a position of power at the Juventus Stadium, and the representatives of the club’s long-time star attacker, the conclusion was reached that the best route forward would be for Dybala’s terms in Turin not to be renewed.
The 28-year-old, as a result, is in line to depart as a free agent upon the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign.
So, just where could Dybala end up next? A whole host of top clubs from across the continent have inevitably been tipped as potential landing spots over the course of the last couple of months, including the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
And now, as alluded to above, another name has been added to the list of the South American’s suitors.
The club in question? Arsenal.
As per a report from Calciomercato, since backed and added to by a number of further Italian sources, Dybala’s agent, Jorge Antun, flew out to London earlier today.
This comes ahead of a meeting with representatives from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who are understood to be expressing a keen interest in landing the gifted no.10 on a free.
Discussions with Frank Trimboli, an intermediary for a number of other Premier League clubs, are also expected to take place.

Champions League the key
Elsewhere, it has been suggested that Arsenal’s hopes of landing Dybala are likely to hinge on the outcome of the club’s efforts to secure Champions League football for next season.
The Gunners of course occupy the Premier League’s final top-4 berth at present, but saw their advantage over the chasing pack cut to just a solitary point by north London rivals Tottenham on Thursday night.
Nevertheless, some have gone as far as to assure that, should Mikel Arteta’s troops go on to seal a return to European football’s elite club competition, then Dybala will, with no hesitation, reject current frontrunners for his signature – Inter Milan – in favour of putting pen to paper on terms at the Emirates.
#Dybala: per il dopo-#Juve, Inter sempre favorita, ma se @Arsenal si qualificherà per la prossima Champions, il giocatore si trasferirà dai gunners.
