Juventus are reportedly ready to rival Chelsea for soon to be free-agent Ivan Perisic when his contract at Inter Milan expires this summer, according to reports coming out of Italy.
The Croatian midfielder has been with the Italian champions since 2015, though he spent a season on loan with Bayern Munich, and has amassed over 250 appearances, contributing to over 100 goals.
A versatile option, the 33-year-old can play as a wing-back, midfielder or winger, and was subject to interest from Manchester United when Jose Mourinho was in charge. Now, however, he seems set to leave the San Siro on a free this summer, despite making 33 appearances for the Nerazzurri this Serie A campaign.
Juevntus ready to rival Chelsea
Now, as per Italian outlets, Juventus and Max Allegri are keen to rival Chelsea for his signature. The Blues are thought to be keen on the veteran as a potential replacement for Marcos Alonso, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, potentially joining Andreas Christensen at Barcelona.
However, they could face competition from within the Serie A, in the shape of underperforming Juventus. Often, Allegri has been forced into playing central midfielders in wide areas due to a lack of options, and the Italian press claim that ‘Bianconeri coach Max Allegri is an admirer and would push for Perisic’s signing’.
They add that ‘the Nerazzurri are ready to offer Perisic a one-year deal worth €5 million net per season including add-ons, whilst the player and his representatives are firm in their demand of €6 million net per season including add-ons.’
Should they fail to come to an accord, it could well be a two horse race for his signature.
