Jordan Henderson has revealed which Chelsea star has the world at his feet.
Liverpool and Chelsea of course clashed in the FA Cup final this past weekend, with the Reds coming out on top after 120 minutes and penalties.
Chelsea missed two penalties but it was Mason Mount’s spot-kick that put the nail in the Blues’ coffin at Wembley.
As a result, Mount was obviously very upset after Liverpool picked up the win, leading to Jordan Henderson going over to console the midfielder post-match.
Now, Henderson has been speaking about Mount and stated that the 23-year-old has the world at his feet:
“That is always a big thing for me. You’ve got to be respectful to the opponent, especially with players you play with from your national team,” the Liverpool captain told Sky Sports on the moment where he went over to embrace Mount.
“You know how good they are and that they are good people, especially in penalty shootouts, it’s never nice for people to miss penalties. I knew he’d be feeling really down, and to be honest, he probably didn’t want me going over there thinking back, but I just wanted to give him a little bit of support because he’s a top player, a great lad, and he’s still very young.
“He’s got the world at his feet, and I am sure he will bounce back. When he gets the opportunity again, he’ll step up and put the ball in the back of the net.”
Mount, though, has now lost a staggering six finals at Wembley – four with Chelsea, one with Derby and one with England.
