Liverpool remains on the hunt for a historic quadruple this season that is set to come down to the final day of the Premier League as they sit just one point behind league rivals Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s men stumbled mightily at the weekend against West Ham at the London Stadium in a 2-2 draw, which Liverpool promptly capitalized on yesterday when they dispatched Southampton in a 2-1 win at St. Mary’s.
But not only are the Reds on the hunt to leapfrog City on the final day of the Premier League, but they also must gauge their chances against global giants Real Madrid in their Champions League final clash set for ten days from now, but at the very least, could be able to boast a fit and available Joe Gomez come kick-off.
Per The Times’ northern football correspondent Paul Joyce, Gomez could be available in time for the gargantuan night in Paris at the Stade de France after the England international suffered an injury setback in the win over Saints.
Joe Gomez has had a scan on the ankle injury sustained versus Southampton. No serious damage which is a positive outcome. Liverpool are confident he will be available for the Champions League final if his recovery goes as planned.

It was first thought that the Liverpool defender may have suffered a serious degree of damage which could throw any participation in Paris into question, but Liverpool is now said to be confident that Gomez will be in the traveling squad at the very least contingent on how well he recovers.
Though still not a first-choice option at Liverpool, Gomez has still shown for the Reds when he has been called on this season by Jürgen Klopp at either right-back or center-back and remains a valued part of the first-team squad.
