Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is already thinking about the summer transfer window and how the Blues are to navigate turbulent waters as the club looks for stability at the boardroom level in the wake of the latest takeover news to grip the capital club.
With Chelsea’s takeover bid now seemingly in the balance, there is little clarity regarding just how the Stamford Bridge outfit is to tackle the summer period, but according to Tuchel, Cobham academy products Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja are set to be given an initial role in developments during pre-season.
In quotes provided by Goals’ Nizaar Kinsella, Tuchel confirmed that the young pair will be given a chance to show their worth during the club’s pre-season program, which will ultimately decide their individual fates and whether or not they will earn a spot in the first-team squad, or if they will be moved on either ina loan capacity or a potential full transfer given the wider expected transfer business that Chelsea could look to undertake depending on how the ownership change progresses.
One player that could certainly spell a potential end for Armano Broja would be Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, who is set to leave the Bavarian giants this summer, with Chelsea joining the queue for the Polish superstar along with Barcelona, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Both Broja and Gallagher have has incredibly strong seasons at Crystal Palace and Southampton respectively this season under Patrick Vieira and Ralph Hasenhüttl, and potential avenues for first-team minutes can still be found at both clubs should the pair not have a future at Stamford Bridge given previous interest in securing their services on full transfer deals in the summer.
Gallagher has been one the standout performers at Selhurst Park this season, and for a period was the club’s leading scorer in the Premier League before Wilfried Zaha kicked into gear, while Broja was regularly among the goals for Saints this term while leading the line like an energizer bunny befitting of a Hasenhüttl press and scoring 6-goals (third at the club) along the way.
Should Chelsea end with a need to sell players – something Tuchel has seemingly confirmed earlier today – the young pair may not have a future in London but the combined fee the club could receive for the budding young pair could suit all parties involved.
