The reason Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has opted not to join Manchester City on a free transfer this summer has been provided.
A somewhat bizarre news story broke at the beginning of May that claimed Manchester City were interested in signing Paul Pogba.
This of course comes with the Frenchman out of contract at Manchester United at the end of June 2022.

However, after only a week or so, those rumours seemed to die down, with many likely of the opinion that no deal was actually close, mainly because it is hard to see where Pogba would even fit into Pep Guardiola’s system.
Now though, fresh reports have emerged surrounding Pogba to City and they have shed some light as to why the midfielder opted not to join the Sky Blues.
It was claimed by The Times that Paul Pogba had discussed personal terms with Manchester City, but snubbed a move to the Etihad Stadium due to backlash fears. That is because the World Cup-winning France international is approaching the end of his contract at Manchester United and would have come in for even greater scrutiny had he linked up with their arch-rivals as a free agent.
With Manchester City seemingly off the table, that leaves just a few places Pogba could realistically end up this summer.
Both PSG and Juventus could be likely destinations, whilst Real Madrid can also afford his wages.
