Arsenal are under pressure to insert a release clause into any new contract for star man Bukayo Saka, according to reports.
Saka, 20, has been one of Arsenal’s best players across the 2021/22 campaign and, whilst the Champions League now looks to be nothing more than a pipe dream, Arsenal are set to secure a 5th-place finish this term at the very least – a huge improvement on their 8th-place finishes in the previous two campaigns.
And Saka has been instrumental to that, scoring 11 and assisting six in the league whilst also forming a great understanding with Martin Odegaard at the heart of the Gunners’ attack.
But given that Saka is still only 20, English and playing for an Arsenal side no longer at the top of the English game, the north Londoners may have a hard time keeping hold of their young prodigy.
Saka is under contract until 2024 at the Emirates, but Arsenal do appear to be working on a new deal for the winger.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are under pressure to include a release clause in the new contract they are planning to offer Bukayo Saka, with formal talks with his representatives due to start at the end of the season.
