Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo has taken to social media on Saturday night, to celebrate bagging the first piece of silverware of his fledgling career.
Amad, on the whole, has of course endured an altogether disappointing season.
After failing to break back into the first-team setup in Manchester on a consistent basis after an injury suffered in August, it was decided that a loan spell away from Old Trafford would best aid the Ivorian’s development.
Amad, in turn, went on to link up with Scottish giants Rangers, amid hopes that the 19-year-old would go on to provide his parent club with a timely reminder of why they splashed out so considerably on his signature in the first place.
To say that the young attacker ultimately failed to do so, though, would be something of an understatement.
All told, Amad carved out for himself a paltry two league appearances in Glasgow, leaving boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst, evidently, unimpressed.
‘The champions’
On Sunday, however, Man United’s faltering up-and-coming talent was afforded a fresh chance to impress.
As Rangers went head-to-head with Hearts in the finale of the Scottish Cup, Amad was thrown in from the off, on the right of the Light Blues’ front-three.
And though he was ultimately hooked just beyond the hour mark, the 19-year-old can be satisfied that he played his part en route to an eventual 2-0 triumph for van Bronckhorst’s men.
Rangers, just three days on from suffering heartbreak in the finale of the Europa League, have therefore salvaged what would have been an otherwise hugely underwhelming season.
And Amad, on the back of what is likely to prove his final appearances in Gers colours, was therefore quick to take to social media, to unveil a celebratory message:
I felt so bad about the loss of my second Europa League final, but today a new page in my career has begun and I thank God for everything🙏🏾…
