Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been crowned the Premier League Player of the Season for 2021/22.
The Premier League awards for 2021/22 have begun to be handed out on Saturday, May 21.
Early in the day, Manchester City’s Phil Foden topped an eight-man shortlist that featured the likes of Bukayo Saka, Mason Mount and Declan Rice to win the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.

And now, Kevin De Bruyne has been voted the 2021/22 EA SPORTS Player of the Season.
De Bruyne joins an elite group of players to win the award in more than one Premier League campaign, emulating Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Vidic.
De Bruyne, who last won the prize in 2019/20, has scored 15 goals and provided a further seven assists in 29 appearances for the Sky Blues on their road to what looks set to be a 4th league title under Pep Guardiola.

Mohamed Salah robbed?
Much like Saka missing out on the Young Player of the Season award to Foden, there is a strong case that Mohamed Salah of Liverpool actually should have been named the Premier League Player of the Season.
Salah tops both the goal-scoring and assists charts in the Premier League despite missing a month of action due to the African Cup of Nations.
