Liverpool dealt major blow ahead of Champions League final as Thiago limps out of Wolves clash

Liverpool have been dealt a major blow ahead of the 2022 Champions League final.

The Reds are currently locked in Premier League action with Wolves in what is their final league game of the season.

Liverpool headed into the match knowing they needed a win to have any chance of pipping Manchester City to the Premier League title.

The Merseysiders did get off to a nightmare start when an Ibrahima Konate mistake allowed Pedro Neto to put Wolves 1-0 up inside three minutes.

However, Liverpool and Sadio Mane hit back after just 24 minutes, in large part due to a superb assist from Thiago:

Thiago has been instrumental to Liverpool’s success this term. However, the Spaniard was forced off with an injury moments before half-time.

It is not yet known how serious the midfielder’s injury is, but with the Champions League final less than a week away, it may be a major blow for Klopp and co.
