Liverpool are set to play out their final game of the 2021/22 season this coming weekend.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will meet Real Madrid at the Stade de France in the Champions League final.
The clash is a repeat of the 2018 final, which Real Madrid won by three goals to one.
Since that game, though, Liverpool have spent plenty to improve their side, bringing in the likes of Alisson, Thiago, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate.
Madrid, meanwhile, have lost Cristiano Ronaldo and can no longer rely on Gareth Bale like they did four years ago.
Real, though, are still a serious threat to the Reds’ treble hopes and are the most successful side in this competition, winning an impressive 13 European Cups/Champions Leagues.
But how many Champions League have Liverpool won?
The answer to that is six, making them the third most successful club behind Madrid and AC Milan, who have won seven.
Liverpool won their first European Cup in 1976/77, beating German side Borussia Monchengladbach 3-1 in the final.
The Merseysiders would retain their crown in the following campaign, seeing off Brugge by one goal to nil in the 1977/78 showpiece.
The Reds then spent three years without a European Cup, but were back in 1980/81 to beat their upcoming opponents Real Madrid 1-0 in the final.
The final European Cup won by Liverpool came in 1983/84 and saw them see off Roma thanks to a penalty shootout.
Liverpool’s first Champions League arrived in 2004/05 as the Reds came from 3-0 down vs AC Milan to win their second title via a penalty shootout.
And, of course, Liverpool’s 6th and latest Champions League was won in 2018/19 when they beat Tottenham 2-0.
