Southampton are in line to benefit from Premier League rivals Liverpool’s predicted sale of Sadio Mane in the summer, according to reports.
The name of wide-man Mane has of course taken its place front and centre in the English media headlines over the last week.
This comes with the Senegalese widely understood to have informed those in a position of power at Anfield of his intention to seek pastures new ahead of next season.
German champions Bayern Munich, in turn, have emerged as early front-runners for his signature, as Liverpool prepare for life sans the services of one of the key pillars behind the club’s recent success.
Sadio #Mané is very close to joining Bayern Munich. He has decided to leave Liverpool, Klopp and his teammates are informed.
PSG is not completely out of the race yet, but he prefers Bayern – as he can be the big star there.

As alluded to above, though, in the case that Mane’s exit ultimately goes through, his current club will not be the only ones to profit.
Joining Liverpool in benefitting from any form of transfer over the months ahead will too be Premier League rivals Southampton.
As per a report from reliable outlet The Athletic, a sell-on clause was included in the deal which took Mane from St. Mary’s to Anfield back in the summer of 2016.
The terms of the agreement entitle Southampton to a ‘lump sum’ of any fee secured for the 30-year-old’s services, understood to fall in the region of 15 to 20 percent.
In the case that Mane is indeed sold to Bayern for the kind of figure touted in the press across the week to date, then Southampton, in turn, will likely be looking at a cash injection of £5-6 million.
