A 12-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a van as she got off a bus.
Lexi McDavid was struck by a white Mercedes van in Huyton, Liverpool, on Tuesday afternoon.
Lexi, who is from the area, was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she later died.
Merseyside Police said emergency services were called to Princess Drive around 3.30pm to reports of a collision.
Officers said the van driver remained at the scene and was helping police with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper, from the serious collision investigation unit at Merseyside Police, said: “Our thoughts and condolences this morning are very much with the family of Lexi, who has lost her life at a tragically young age, and they are receiving the support of specialist officers.

“An investigation is ongoing and we’d ask that anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on dashcam or other devices and has yet to come forward does so as soon as possible.
“Your information could be vital to our investigation.”
