Bazunu spent last season on loan with League One side Portsmouth, in a season where he managed 16 clean sheets. He stole the headlines, however, while on international duty where he saved a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo to deny him the all-time goalscoring record, though he managed it later in that game.

Unlikely to unseat Ederson any time soon in between the posts for Pep Guardiola’s side, a move away seems necessary for Bazunu, while Southampton have shown with Tino Livramento and Armando Broja that they are not averse to handing youngsters plenty of responsibility.
