An insight into the likely date set for Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool debut has been provided on Sunday evening.
The name of Uruguayan international Nunez has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines on the red half of Merseyside across the day to date.
This comes on the back of widespread confirmation that the 22-year-old is on the verge of sealing a move to Liverpool, to link up with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds ahead of next season.
As per the reliable Paul Joyce, an agreement has been struck between the respective boards at Anfield and the Estádio da Luz, over a big-money transfer for Nunez.
The prolific hitman, who found the back of the net 32 times across all competitions this past season, is therefore expected to carry out his Liverpool medical at some point over the next 24 hours, before putting pen to paper on a six-year deal.
Darwin Nunez deal: £64m initial fee (75m euros), add-ons of £12.8m on appearances and £8.5m on team success. Liverpool preparing medical tomorrow in expectation everything finalised today. Nunez currently in Madrid and would sign a six year deal. https://t.co/AydhXtpOWT

So, just when could the Reds faithful be afforded a first opportunity to catch a glimpse of Nunez lining out in the colours of their famed club?
Well, as alluded to above, an insight into precisely that has been provided on Sunday.
Nunez himself will no doubt have his sights set firmly on Liverpool’s first pre-season outing as an ideal opportunity to secure his maiden appearance for the club.
This comes with Klopp’s troops set to take on none other than Manchester United, the other Premier League giant understood to have expressed a keen interest in the Uruguayan’s signature this summer, in Bangkok on July 12th.
Liverpool play Manchester United in Bangkok on July 12. We could see Nuñez for the first time then in Liverpool red.
