Manchester City have officially confirmed their capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland signed for Man City from Borussia Dortmund last month and is expected to set the Premier League alight in 2022/23.
City met the £51m release clause in Haaland’s contract and he will join Kevin De Bruyne as the club’s highest-paid player on around £400,000 a week.
The hitman managed close to a goal a game for BVB, making him one of the most prolific strikers in Europe’s top leagues.
Though the deal has basically been confirmed for around a month now, Manchester City had not made an official announcement until Monday.
The Sky Blues posted a video referencing an old picture of Haaland in a Manchester City shirt to their social media, before confirming the player has signed a contract until 2027.

The Sky Blues then released Haaland’s first interview as a City player:
“I think I can develop a lot under Pep and in this Club,” the Norwegian told mancity.com. “I think I can get better on a lot of things and hopefully I can score a lot of (goals). “I have spoken a little bit with him. We are both looking forward to working together.”
Haaland added: “This is a proud day for me and my family. I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me. I’ve been a City fan my whole life and know a lot about the club. I feel a bit like home here and I think I can develop.”
