Arsenal remain on course to complete the signing of Youri Tielemans following the Nations League fixtures, according to CBS Sports sources, as Tottenham have cooled their interest in the Belgian midfielder after agreeing a deal for Yves Bissouma.
The Gunners have shown a protracted interest in Tielemans, who has just one year left to run on his current deal at King Power Stadium, and were strongly linked with the Belgian before the Nations League began, with suggestions that he could cost anything between £25m and £40m should he make the switch to north London.
Indeed, Tielemans remains ‘one of Arteta’s top priorities’ as he looks to move from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3, with the 25-year-old set to play on the left side of his ideal midfield three.
Arsenal remain confident and on course to sign Youri Tielemans before the month is out. Interest from Tottenham was never too advanced. But Bissouma’s incoming arrival will allay fears Spurs could hijack the deal. Tielemans is one of Arteta’s top priorities.

More to come from Arsenal?
Arsenal have begun the window in slow fashion, with other clubs completing deals around them as they wait for their prime targets to complete their international duties. Following Tielemans, should a deal be concluded, they are expected to turn their attentions to Gabriel Jesus, who they remain in the lead for.

Beyond that, the Gunners are also looking to add another centre-back despite the return of William Saliba, while another forward and a full-back could well also be on the agenda before the window closes in September.
However, it seems as though Tielemans could become their second signing following Marquinhos into London Colney.
