Manchester United remain locked in talks with Barcelona over a deal for Frenkie de Jong.
Erik ten Hag is hoping to make the Dutch midfielder his first signing at Old Trafford.
However, a deal with Barça is proving to be pretty complicated due to the difference in valuation between the two clubs.
Barça-United: Gap in de Jong valuation
According to The Atheltic, there is currently a gap of between €10 million to €15 million.
Man Utd are under the impression that Barça need to make a sale in order to help with their cash flow issues.
Along with the lack of interest from elsewhere in de Jong, United hope Barcelona’s valuation will eventually drop.
But for now, the Catalan club are standing firm over their desired price tag of €80 million.
Ten Hag is now understood to be getting somewhat frustrated with how long the deal is taking.
He understands that if Barça accept less, he will have more money to spend elsewhere, although he wants the player in sooner rather than later.
United believe that they can hold off for now with the players not due back for training until June 27.
