German giants Borussia Dortmund are closing on a deal for Ajax star Sebastien Haller, according to reports on Sunday.
The transfer team at Signal Iduna Park, of course, are on the lookout for reinforcements in the attacking third ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
This comes with star man Erling Haaland having seen a cut-price release clause in his BVB contract activated by Premier League champions Manchester City, set to lead the line for Pep Guardiola’s star-studded outfit from next season on.
Dortmund, in turn, quickly swooped for a big-money addition of their own, securing the services of Red Bull Salzburg sensation Karim Adeyemi.
As alluded to above, though, evidently, those in a position of power at the club remain of the opinion that the club’s frontline is in need of yet further fresh blood.
And such a take has, on Sunday, culminated in Dortmund tabling an opening offer for Ajax hitman Sebastien Haller.
Ivorian international Haller, who of course endured a less than impressive stint in England with West Ham United, is fresh off a stellar campaign in Amsterdam, which saw the 27-year-old find the net on 34 occasions across all competitions, including a hefty 11 goals in the Champions League.
Such production, though, could soon be on show in the German top-flight rather than its Dutch equivalent, with Dortmund understood to be closing on a deal for the talented attacker.
As per Dutch transfer expert Mike Verweij, BVB have proposed a deal worth €33 million, plus bonuses, to Ajax for Haller.
And the Eredivisie champions, for their part, view the bid as one which essentially ‘cannot be refused’, making a deal between the two clubs altogether likely to come to fruition over the weeks ahead.
