The long-awaited return of Paul Pogba to Italian giants Juventus has, on Thursday, finally been confirmed.
Recent weeks, of course, had seen the name of French international Pogba return to the fore in the media headlines once more.
This came on the back of confirmation arriving on the part of Manchester United that the midfield enigma was set to move on, owing to the expiration of his contract terms at Old Trafford.
A whole host of clubs, in turn, are understood to have expressed an interest in Pogba’s signature, including the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and even Manchester City.
One, though, remained favourites to strike a deal throughout.
The outfit in question? The aforementioned Juventus.
Amid something of a squad overhaul at the Allianz Stadium this summer, Pogba was quickly identified as a leading target to reinforce the ranks of ex-boss Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield.
This of course comes after the Italian tactician oversaw the finest form of Pogba’s career, during a prior stint together in Turin.
And now, as alluded to above, the 29-year-old’s Bianconeri return has finally been confirmed.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a ‘full agreement’ has been reached between Pogba and those in a position of power at Juventus.
The Frenchman is therefore set to put pen to paper on terms with the Serie A heavyweights at the beginning of July, upon Pogba bringing a close to his summer vacation.
It will mark the 2nd time in his career that Pogba has committed to Juve as a free agent, either side of a six-year, €100 million+ spell back in Manchester.
