Leeds United are targeting FC Porto midfielder Otavio as they look to find a replacement for the outbound Raphinha this summer, and are readying a 40m euro bid to try and tempt the Portuguese outfit into selling.
The Portuguese side have already offloaded Fabio Vieira to Arsenal and Vitinha to Paris Saint Germain this summer, as well as the January sale of Luis Diaz, which has taken their total income to over £100m this calendar year.
Now, they could be in line for yet more, with Brazilian Otavio the latest Porto player to be targeted by a Premier League side. This time, in the shape of Leeds United.
Jesse Marsch’s side are looking to plan for life after Raphinha, with the Leeds talisman already the subject of one failed bid and looking certain to depart Elland Road this summer.
And, according to Portuguese media, Leeds have already seen one 30m euro bid for Otavio knocked back, and are planning on returning with a 40m euro bid as they look to replace one Brazilian with another.
Gakpo and De Ketelaere among other options
Otavio is not the only one on Marsch’s list of transfer targets this summer, with PSV winger Cody Gakpo and Club Brugge forward Charles de Ketelaere also both among potential additions this transfer window.
Both would likely cost in excess of 40m euros, which means that it would likely be a case of one or the other joining the Elland Road side.
However, with a rumoured 70m euro offer for Raphinha on the table, should Leeds be able to raise yet more funds with the sale of Kalvin Phillips, it could be a case where both arrive in Yorkshire this summer.
