An insight into the fitness levels of Arsenal star Thomas Partey has been provided on Saturday, ahead of the Gunners’ fast-approaching return to training.
Ghanaian international Partey is of course fresh off another hit-and-miss campaign in north London.
When on the pitch, the 29-year-old, to his credit, finally began to showcase the kind of form in line with the hefty sum forked over for his signature by those in a position of power at the Emirates back in the summer of 2020.
All too often, though, such stretches of excellence were interrupted, once more, by fitness problems.
Partey, in turn, managed starts in just 23 of Arsenal’s 38 Premier League fixtures over the campaign’s length, adding to only 18 across his debut term in north London.
As such, it goes without saying that club and player alike will be hopeful of better things to come in 2022/23, amid an altogether impressive ongoing summer recruitment drive at the Emirates.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, then such hopes appear to have been afforded a boost.
This comes on the back of an update surfacing on Partey’s current wellbeing, ahead of the imminent return to pre-season training on the part of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
As per the reliable Charles Watts, the midfield all-rounder, whose absence over the closing weeks of the campaign proved fatal in Arsenal’s hunt for Champions League football, has recovered full fitness.
Partey, as a result, is expected to be ready to feature from the off in pre-season, set to kick into gear early next month.
