A pair of members of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea squad have, this week, returned to base at the club’s training ground ahead of schedule.
The first wave of Blues stars, fresh off an altogether underwhelming campaign last time out, have been pencilled in to to report back for pre-season training in west London on July 2nd.
And following such stars will be the remainder of Tuchel’s ranks, to have been selected for their respective countries for international duty this month, a week later.
Two prominent members of Chelsea’s senior setup, though, have in fact been spotted back at Cobham this week, evidently keen to regain match fitness as soon as possible.
The players in question? Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The info comes by way of journalist Adam Newson, who reveals that the latter, in particular, was afforded ‘hardly any time off over the summer’.
Both England internationals of course spent lengthy stretches on the sidelines last season owing to injury, with the fierce competition for places in Chelsea’s ranks having pushed both into opting for early returns to training this week.
Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi already on the pre-season grind at Cobham – as Thomas Tuchel said they would be.
Gather CHO hardly had any time off over the summer, has worked hard to overcome the fitness issues that sidelined him for much of the second half of last season.
