Two updates regarding the future of West Ham’s attack have been provided recently.
According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, West Ham could be about to offload Nikola Vlasic with Torino confident about signing the Croatian.
It is added that club chiefs at the Serie A side are pushing for a deal as the player looks to quit the London Stadium after just one year.
Vlasic was signed by West Ham in August of 2021 from Russian side CSKA Moscow. The 24-year-old is believed to have set the Hammers back £27m and is under contract in east London until 2026.
However, Vlasic had a pretty poor debut year in England. He made 19 Premier League appearances for David Moyes, but scored just one goal and provided no assists.
The midfielder did not fare much better in the cup competitions either, taking his goal and assist tally across all competitions to just four in 36 outings.
Lingard return?
Elsewhere, West Ham already appear to have a replacement lined up for Vlasic in the form of Jesse Lingard.
The England international enjoyed a superb loan spell at West Ham during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign, when he scored nine times in 16 appearances.
Now, with his contract at Old Trafford up at the end of this month, it is reported that West Ham are waiting for Lingard to make a decision over his future after firming up their interest with a formal offer of a return to the club.
The Englishman endured a rough 2021/22 campaign that saw him remain on the fringes of United’s squad under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
