FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has, on Saturday, provided official unveiling dates for a pair of imminent additions to Xavi Hernandez’s squad.
First up comes Franck Kessie.
It has of course long been one of football’s worst kept secrets that midfielder Kessie is bound for the Camp Nou.
After allowing the terms of his contract with Italian giants AC Milan to come to a close, the Ivorian international was officially added to the summer pool of free agents on Friday.
Speaking to the media a short time ago, though, the aforementioned Laporta confirmed that this will not remain the case for long, with Kessie, having long penned a pre-contract agreement with the Blaugrana, set to be unveiled in Catalunya this coming Wednesday.
And swiftly following the reinforcements to Barca’s midfield setup will be fresh blood at the back, too.
Andreas Christensen has of course long been primed to take his talents to the Camp Nou, after coming to the decision not to renew his contract with Chelsea.
In turn, having been convinced of the merits of the ongoing rebuilding project being overseen by Xavi and co, the Danish international will too see his free agent move to the club made official this coming week.
On the back of Kessie’s unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, Christensen’s is scheduled to take place 24 hours later, as confirmed by Laporta on Saturday evening.
