Leeds United sporting director Victor Orta has spoken out about the transfer saga surrounding one of the Whites’ top stars, Raphinha.
For several weeks, it was Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who were the side most heavily linked with the Brazilian and, despite no deal being completed, it did look as though Raphinha was Emirates bound.
That was until last week, when various reports emerged suggesting that Chelsea were close to agreeing a deal with Leeds for their star winger.
Now, however, despite Barcelona’s financial crisis, it is the Catalan powerhouse who are believed to be the winger’s first choice.
But, because of the monetary woes being faced by Barcelona, Leeds are understood to prefer Chelsea’s proposal, whilst the player himself wants to move to Spain.
Now, as mentioned above, Victor Orta has spoken out about Raphinha. However, the former Middlesbrough man gave little away, stating that he is ‘sure’ journalist Fabrizio Romano knows more about the transfer than he does:
“At this time, I am sure that Fabrizio Romano knows more about Raphinha’s transfer than I do,” said Orta.

He added: “Raphinha has little things similar to the best Neymar, but he has more legs to defend.”
