An insight into the ongoing links between Arsenal and Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry has, on Sunday, been provided.
The name of wide-man Gnabry has, of course, taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the European media throughout the summer to date.
This comes with the German international, to this point, having refused to put pen to paper on fresh terms with the aforementioned Bayern.
With Gnabry’s current contract due to expire in just 12 months’ time, the transfer team in Bavaria have therefore been left with no choice but to take into consideration the sale of the 26-year-old.
And one such outfit hotly tipped as a potential landing spot for Gnabry comes in the form of none other than Arsenal.
The versatile attacker of course spent five years on the books on the red half of north London early in his fledgling career.
In turn, with the Gunners known to be on the lookout for reinforcements out wide ahead of the new campaign, and looking set to miss out on first-choice target Raphinha, murmurs had begun to spread of late that the powers that be at the Emirates could seek out a summer reunion with Gnabry.
Any such hopes on the part of the Arsenal faithful of seeing the club’s one-time starlet line out in their famed red in 2022/23, though, have this evening been dealt a hit.
This comes owing to an update on the situation, courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian has confirmed that, in fact, Arsenal ‘are not working’ on a deal for the Bayern star, with the capital giants instead focusing their attentions on alternative targets.
