An update on the future of in-demand Ajax star Lisandro Martinez has, on Sunday, been forthcoming online.
Stopper Martinez, of course, has been hotly tipped for a Premier League switch of late.
Amid the ongoing efforts of both Arsenal and Manchester United to reinforce their respective backlines ahead of the new campaign, the two giants of English football are understood to have identified the Argentine international as a priority target.
Big-money proposals on the part of both clubs, in turn, have been tabled, albeit with it long having remained unclear which outfit boasts the lead in the race to actually land Martinez.
In turn, as alluded to above, an update on the situation has this weekend been forthcoming online.
The info comes courtesy of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who has confirmed that a fresh proposal has landed on the desk of the transfer team at Ajax, by way of Man United.
The bid in question, it is understood, came in at a hefty €50 million.
And yet, the Dutch champions made clear that their demands had not yet been satisfied.
Talks, as a result, are set to continue over the coming days and weeks, with Martinez himself having made clear his intention to seal a move to England this summer.
