Tottenham have tabled an official 17m euro bid for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay as Antonio Conte looks for added attacking reinforcements this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The Lilywhites have made five signings this summer, and are on the verge of adding a sixth in the form of Djed Spence, who will join Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet and Richarlison in turning out for Tottenham for the first time this season.
Now, however, Conte has switched his focus to getting his hands on a more creative forward, in order to provide yet more cover for dynamic pair Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, and has tabled a bid for the out-of-favour Barcelona man.
However, as per Sport, while there is a 17m euro offer on the table for the Dutchman, ‘The Dutch international, for now, prefers to wait because his priority is not to return to the Premier League’.
Depay only joined Barcelona last summer on a free transfer, but is already set to be shown the door as the Blaugrana overhaul their squad, having agreed a deal for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski on top of the three forwards that they have added in the past 8 months.
Tottenham to move for Maddison?
Rumours have suggested that another option for the attacking role that Conte is looking at is Leicester CIty’s James Maddison, who enjoyed a stellar season last campaign, the 25 year old racking up 12 goals and 8 assists in 35 outings.
🚨Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering the signing of Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.
📄The player currently has just two years left on his current contract with Leicester City.

However, the 25-year-old Englishman would not come cheap, with previous interested parties having been quoted above £60m to lure him away from Leicester.
