Surfers and their dogs have rushed out to participate in the UK’s annual Dog Surfing Championships at the large coastal town on Poole in Dorset.
The annual contest, now in its fourth year, is an all-day event with live music performances and food alongside the bodacious main event.
The event includes a series of heats adjudicated by specialists, and even features a “doggy” paddleboard race.
Pictures show numerous wave lovers and their canine friends splashing out into the waters off Branksome Dene Chine beach.
It was expected to attract up to 3,000 people.
Some of the competitors dressed up to participate during the Dog Masters 2022 event.
Elizabeth Wilkinson was among them, dressed up like Her Majesty Elizabeth II in a gown, wig, and crown.
Her dog Diogie accompanied Ms Wilkinson as she sprinted along the beach and splashed out into the water.
Another contestant was paddling in a Scooby Doo onesie, while a dog was spotted wearing a shark fin attached to its life jacket.
