Premier League outfit Aston Villa have, on Sunday, confirmed a departure from the club’s first-team setup.
The player to have moved onto pastures new for the campaign ahead? Wesley.
Forgotten man Wesley, who has strung together just 26 Premier League appearances since linking up with Villa back in the summer of 2019, spent the last 18 months out on loan, in a bid to rediscover his best on the back of a cruciate ligament injury.
After first sealing a move back to Belgium with Club Brugge, the 25-year-old soon found himself in his home country, on the books of Internacional.
Evidently, though, the powers that be at Villa Park remain of the opinion that their one-time big-money addition has simply not gotten himself back to a point where he is ready to contribute in the English midlands on a week-to-week basis.
In turn, on Sunday, it has come as little surprise to hear of Wesley sealing a fresh loan exit.
On this occasion, the towering striker has opted to take his talents to Spain, linking up with La Liga outfit Levante for the duration of the 2022/23 season.
As per an official statement across the Claret and Blue’s website and social media platforms:
‘Aston Villa can confirm Wesley has joined Levante UD on loan until the end of the season.
‘The striker had previously been on loan at Internacional in his native Brazil but will now spend the 2022/23 campaign with the Spanish side.’
