A fresh update on Manchester City’s left-back hunt has emerged on Sunday.
The main left-full whom City have been linked with this summer has been Marc Cucurella of Brighton.
Fabrizio Romano wrote earlier this month that the Citizens’ interest in the defender is very serious, with an offer expected at Brighton:
“I’m sure Manchester City fans will be eager for an update on Marc Cucurella, and things could start moving soon,” Romano wrote.
“Despite some mention of Chelsea also eyeing him up, at the moment there is only Man City in the race for Cucurella, though obviously they will have to move fast to avoid other clubs to enter the race.
“The interest from City has already been very serious for months and an official offer is expected at Brighton: the club does not confirm the price tag figures, but it could be around €55-60m. Man City will soon be back in contact with Brighton for Cucurella.”
However, more recent reports suggest that City are unwilling to meet the Seagulls’ asking price for the Spaniard.
And now, it has been claimed that the Sky Blues will focus on VfB Stuttgart left-back, Borna Sosa, if a move for Marc Cucurella fails.

Borna Sosa joined Stuttgart in July of 2018, departing long-time club, Dinamo Zagreb.
Sosa has since featured on 83 occasions for the German side, notching three goals and 23 assists in the process.
Sosa, a natural left-back, has excelled in a back-five system and scored two and assisted nine in 30 games last season, largely from a left-wing-back role.
The Zagreb native also made his Croatia debut recently, notching six appearances since September of 2021.
