An insight into the Manchester United player’s view on Erik ten Hag has emerged on Monday.
Ten Hag was appointed Manchester United manager back in April but didn’t take charge of the club until the current pre-season.
United had a fairly successful pre-season tour this summer, picking up impressive wins over Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace.
Their last match vs Aston Villa on Saturday did see them blow a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2, but there have still been clear signs of progress under the Dutchman.
Now, the Manchester Evening News have been explaining how Ten Hag has won the United players over, pointing to the former Ajax man’s detailed approach as a key factor:
“Within a couple of weeks of Ralf Rangnick’s arrival, people at the club realised it wasn’t going to work and the players were getting nothing out of it. That has changed with Ten Hag.
“He has a remarkable eye for detail in training and players describe a theme running through every training session, of which there have been plenty on tour. There have been days of double sessions and even when there’s only been one a day, it has sometimes dragged on towards three hours.
“The players feel they are benefiting from Ten Hag’s detailed approach to training, especially after what has come before.”
