A “controlling and manipulative” transgender man who tricked two women and a teenage girl into sexual relationships has been jailed for 10 years.
Tarjit Singh was female at birth named Hannah Walters but now identifies as a man.
Singh had abusive relationships with each of the three victims between June 2010 and March 2016.
While in the relationships, the 32-year-old wore clothes during intercourse and used strap-on sex toys in the dark.
Singh, of Enfield, north London, was convicted of three counts of assault by penetration, six counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of making a threat to kill, after a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court earlier this year.
Judge Oscar Del Fabbro described Singh as a “risk to the public of serious harm in the future” and as a “dangerous offender” who had committed repeated acts of violence and assaults against three “vulnerable” victims.
The victims lived with Singh and this was a “dangerous environment for them, riddled with violence”.
He added that Singh was “an accomplished and manipulative liar” and had not been “open and honest” about his gender issues.
The judge said Singh had been “aware that these women were vulnerable” and had deceived them by “not truly revealing” that he had been born biologically female.
‘He looked like a guy, he acted like a guy’
The judge praised the victims and their families for “reliving the trauma” of the “gruelling” events by giving evidence during the trial to ensure Singh faced justice.
Describing the sexual contact, one victim said: “He looked like a guy, he acted like a guy.”
The victim only discovered Singh had female genitalia after finding a sex toy some months into their relationship.
Singh told another victim he had been born male, had a sex change to become female, and now wanted to be male again.
The third victim met Singh after receiving a message through the dating website Plenty of Fish in 2014.
Singh was jailed to a total of 10 years in prison with another three years on licence. A sexual harm prevention order was imposed.
