One of three rape allegations made against a Premier League footballer has been dropped.
The player, who has not been named, has also had his bail extended from a date in August until early October, Scotland Yard said.
The player, in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of rape in north London on 4 July, over allegations involving a woman in her 20s in June.
While in custody he was further arrested over allegations of raping a different woman in April and June 2021.
The Metropolitan Police has now said that “no further action” will be taken regarding the alleged offence in June 2021.
“The investigation into the remaining (alleged) offences is ongoing,” the force added.
The player denies the allegations.
His club has previously said he will not be suspended.
In a statement, it said “no charges (have been) laid and the player can fulfil his professional commitments including permitted travel”.
It added: “We take our commitments and responsibilities seriously and have followed our safeguarding policies and procedures.
“We will keep this matter under close consideration and will review further if circumstances change.”
