The death of a woman whose body was found in a Lovell home in February has been ruled a homicide.
Jennifer Lingard, 41, of Dighton, Massachusetts, was found dead at a residence at 82 Pleasant Point Road at around 1:34 a.m. on Feb. 24 after a wellness check was requested, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Lingard had been vacationing at the home with her two children, who were found at the residence unharmed, and 33-year-old Sami Daou of Newport, Rhode Island, who was not at the house at the time, according to Moss.
Daou was found dead in his Rhode Island home on Feb. 26, according to officials. His death was the result of a drug overdose, according to an autopsy carried out by the Rhode Island medical examiner.
Lingaurd’s autopsy was completed by Maine’s medical examiner in February, but a recently released toxicology report led Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Liam Funte to rule her death a homicide, Moss said.
The circumstances of Lingaurd’s death remain under investigation.
