ELLSWORTH — Community-driven live theater returns to the Stanley Subaru Stage, sponsored by First National Bank.
A full season of Grand produced live theater begins with “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka” opening on Sept. 30 and running select days through Oct. 16. There is a special “pay what you wish” preview on Sept. 29 and all are welcome.
“Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka” is the musical stage version of the beloved movie starring Gene Wilder with the wonderful songs of Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley like “Pure Imagination” and “The Candy Man.”
A cast and crew of over 50 bring the magical world of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” alive including live music with the addition of body mics and improved sound, which has been an issue with past productions, Lavish sets, projections, stunning costuming and great performances makes it Grand theater.
