A man has been arrested after he allegedly broke into two Greenbush homes, prompting one homeowner to fire a gun at the man, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Justin Masters, 33, of Greenbush was arrested Monday night after the sheriff’s office received two separate calls that a man had broken into two homes on Greenfield Road in Greenbush, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
Masters has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and failure to submit to arrest.
The first 911 call came in at 8:20 p.m., when a homeowner on Greenfield Road reported that a man had broken into the home through a window. The homeowner fired a gun at the person, according to the sheriff’s office.
While deputies were responding to the first call they were informed of a second break-in on the same road. When deputies arrived in the area, 15 minutes after the first report of the break-ins, Masters was standing in the roadway.
He did not comply with sheriff’s deputies and ran but was quickly apprehended, according to the sheriff’s office.
Masters was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center to be evaluated, according to the sheriff’s office, and then to the Penobscot County Jail.
