Diane Kruger gave birth to her baby girl in November 2018, but she and her partner, Norman Reedus, have kept their daughter on the down-low since welcoming her to the family. Even so, the couple haven’t been able to resist giving fans a few glimpses of their bundle of joy over the years.
The Sky costars met while filming the 2016 movie. The actress was dating Joshua Jackson at the time, but two years later, Kruger had split from the Dawson’s Creek alum and made her relationship with Reedus public.
The duo made their red carpet debut in May 2018 at the Golden Globes, and Us Weekly confirmed four months later that the Germany native was pregnant with their first child together. (The Walking Dead star is also the father of son Mingus with ex Helena Christensen.)
The National Treasure star;s baby girl arrived in November 2018. The new mom told PorterEdit in January of the following year that she initially didn’t think that she wanted to be a parent.
“I was too selfish. But by the time I got to about 35, I thought, ‘Yes, I probably do want one,’” Kruger told the publication in 2019. “But then you have to wait for the right person to come along.”
The former model called the actor a “calm” dad at the time, saying, “He teaches me a lot because he’s done it before. There’s definitely something to be said for being with someone who is doing it for the second time.”
Three months later, the Troy star told Madame Figaro more about why she didn’t see herself starting a family.
“For a long time, the desire for a child didn’t preoccupy me,” Kruger explained to the outlet in April 2019. “I had my ways. I was fine without one. In short, I didn’t feel absolutely ready. Life ensured my daughter arrived at the right time. It was a surprise, and she is beautiful.”
Two years later, Kruger revealed that she and the Florida native were engaged. The bride-to-be rocked a diamond ring while attending the Met Gala in September 2021.
The Bridge alum shared photos of her red carpet look at the time, including the sparkler, writing via Instagram: “Thank you … for a beautiful evening at the MET. It felt like a dream.”
