Feeling merry and bright! Christina Hall (née Haack) gave a glimpse of her Christmas celebrations with son Hudson after settling her messy custody battle with ex-husband Ant Anstead.
The Flip or Flop alum, 39, shared a Saturday, December 24, Instagram Story photo of Hudson, 3, posing with older siblings Taylor, 12, and Brayden, 7, on Christmas Eve. The three siblings — whom Hall coparents with Anstead, 43, and Tarek El Moussa, respectively — were all smiles in the photo with their maternal grandparents.
Hall — who married Joshua Hall earlier this year — shared further snaps from the family’s gathering, including Taylor snacking on Santa’s cookies.
“I can’t believe you still eat Santa’s cookies,” the Christina in the Country personality quipped to her only daughter in a Saturday video. After Taylor’s brothers were jealous of her extra snack, the preteen replied that it is “my tradition.”
Hudson’s appearance at the Saturday festivities comes weeks after Christina and Anstead settled their heated custody battle.
The Christina on the Coast star welcomed Hudson with the U.K. native in September 2019, less than one year after their wedding. The pair called it quits in September 2020 and finalized their divorce the following June. However, the duo remained at odds over their son’s care.
Anstead — who also shares Amelie, 18, and Archie, 16, with ex-wife Louise Anstead — filed for full custody of Hudson in April. At the time, the Wheeler Dealers alum accused Hall of only spending “nine full days each month” with the toddler for nearly two years.
The HGTV star responded to Ant’s allegations in a statement to Us. “What Ant is doing deeply saddens me,” she noted. “If this was really about Hudson, as he says, this should have been handled privately with a private judge or mediation, as myself and my attorney have suggested. I have had my share of ups and downs but I am a good mom and I love my children with all my heart and I will always protect them.”
A judge denied Ant’s custody petition, but the former couple continued their legal battle until they reached a settlement in November. The Superior Court of California in Orange County granted that Hall and the Celebrity IOU: Joyride star will “continue to have joint legal and joint physical custody,” which they initially agreed upon in June 2021.
The decision allowed Hall to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with Hudson during even-numbered years, with Ant taking the odd years. They will also alternate for Easter, 4th of July and Halloween.
Ahead of the holiday, the Christina in the Country personality and her former spouse each shared festive photos with their little one. “Kid loves being behind the camera … ,” Hall captioned a Wednesday, December 21, Instagram photo of herself and husband Joshua Hall, whom she wed earlier this year. Hudson had his back to the camera while taking a different pic of his mom and stepdad on a phone.
Ant posted a similarly sweet pic the same day of Hudson decorating a Christmas tree. “Tis the season . Having grown in the freezing UK I Still find it wild that a California Christmas tree compliments a warm beach sunset! Temple so cosy and festive, and Hudzo always the willing helper x,” he wrote via Instagram.
The twosome previously sparred about posting photos of their son, with Ant accusing Christina of “exploiting” Hudson for personal gain. She addressed the “confusion and false info” in a lengthy Instagram caption in November, arguing: “I CHOSE and choose not to post Hudson because I was exhausted with Instagram being used as a tool against me.”
Along with Hudson, the Wellness Remodel author is the mother of Taylor and son Brayden with El Moussa, 41. The Flip or Flop alums were married from 2009 to 2018 and have worked hard to stay cordial for their kids.
El Moussa, who is currently expecting a child with wife Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young), previously reunited with Christina in 2019 for their daughter’s holiday performance at school. “Tay’s Christmas performance was sooo cute!! glad my dad got to come too We all sit together – my family and Tarek’s family,” the design guru captioned an Instagram photo at the time. “A couple people acknowledged how nice this is – I know there are a lot of divorced couples (including Tarek’s mom and dad) who do this too and it’s honestly easier for everyone. Plus Taylor’s face lights up when she sees us all in the same row supporting her.”
