Reunited and it feels so good! Sister Wives star Christine Brown was all smiles as she celebrated her daughter, Gwendlyn, getting engaged — with all five of her girls.
“What an awesome weekend spent with my daughters! We went to Gwen’s & Bea’s Engagement party and it was so wonderful to celebrate them,” the TLC personality, 50, captioned a photo of her and her five daughters — Aspyn, 27, Mykelti, 26, Gwendlyn, 21, Ysabel, 19, and Truely, 12 — via Instagram on Monday, February 6.
In addition to Christine and her children — she also shares son Paedon, 24, with ex-husband Kody Brown — Mykelti’s twin sons, Archer and Ace, three months, were also in the sweet snap, making for three generations of Browns in one photo.
As fans commented on the family reunion photo, Gwendlyn shared some more snaps from the party.
“Engagement party pics w our maids of honor and sisters ,” the Northern Arizona University student captioned a series of photos from her celebration. Gwendlyn and her partner Beatriz got engaged in November 2022.
Christine and Kody, 54, spiritually wed in 1994 and announced their decision to separate in November 2021. Meri Brown was the first wife of the Wyoming native. The pair wed in 1990 and share child Leo. The two legally divorced in 2014 — but remained spiritually wed until 2022 — so Kody could legally marry wife Robyn Brown and adopt her children from a previous marriage: son David and daughters Aurora and Breanna. Robyn and Kody share son Solomon and daughter Ariella. Kody was also spiritually married to Janelle Brown, and the duo share six children: Logan, Hunter, Robert, Gabriel, Maddie and Savannah. In December 2022, Janelle confirmed she and Kody split several months before their 30th anniversary.
“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” Christine wrote via Instagram at the time referencing her decision to return to Utah as her family remained in Arizona. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”
When Christine made the decision to leave Cody, she chose to leave Arizona — where Kody, Gwendlyn and other family members still reside — and moved to Utah, bringing Truely with her.
Since her parents split, Gwendlyn has been candid about her support for her mom’s decision to leave her dad. The reality star opened up about how she thought her father had “changed” over the years in a vlog posted on Friday, February 3.
“The reason I think he started changing is because his kids used to be young and easily manipulated and I think he found it easier to talk to them [back then]. We weren’t as opinionated,” she claimed in the video. “Now, we’re adults and we have our opinions. We have our adult thoughts and we have things we do as adults, and I think he just found it easier to talk to [us] when we weren’t as opinionated.”
