Busted! Multiple members of the Teen Mom franchise have run into trouble with the law.
While some, including Jenelle Evans and Amber Portwood, have posed for the camera on multiple occasions, other stars’ mugshots, including Farrah Abraham and Adam Lind, have not been released by authorities. (Abraham was first arrested for a DUI in Omaha, Nebraska, in March 2013, and Lind’s most recent arrest was in December 2017 after Chelsea Houska’s ex violated his probation for a no-contact order).
Us Weekly confirmed in January 2022 that Abraham had been arrested again after allegedly slapping a security guard outside a Los Angeles nightclub. While police officers were initially not called to the scene, a bystander made a citizen’s arrest on the My Teenage Dream Ended author shortly before EMTs arrived. Amid the incident, the medical professionals called the LAPD for assistance, who took Abraham into custody and issued her a citation for the misdemeanor. She was released hours later and a court date for May was set.
“I will never understand sexism & sexist hatred. To all the men who wish me wrong, I give it to the 1 who created us all. I CARE FOR MEN & WOMAN EVERY DAY EQUALLY,” Abraham, who is the mother of daughter Sophia with late Derek Underwood, wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “Why is a male on top of me holding me down when I was walking. This is scary and he should be fired and in jail for [battery]. I’m tired of people harassing me, holding me down, hurting me and [lying] about me … it’s scary, it [affects] mothers, it is traumatizing and I’m hurt.”
Portwood, for her part, was arrested for domestic abuse against ex-boyfriend Andrew Glennon in July 2019. (She was released from custody several days later.)
“I really had to go through something terrible in order for me to kind of sit back and say, ‘Hey, this is what I need to work on. This is how I work on it. And no more excuses. It’s time to actually do the job and get it done — one by one and not putting too much on myself,’” the Teen Mom OG star exclusively told Us in March 2020. “I think once I started doing it that way and really working hard on it in the best way that I could, I learned to truly, truly love myself in a sense.”
Portwood continued at the time: “My children are my main priority always, even though it might be hard for some people to think that. I truly just try to think of my family, think of my beautiful children and what I need to do next so I can be here for them and be the best mom I can be. I did a major change within myself and within my life in a little less than a year and I am happy. It’s a blessing in disguise as well as one of the hardest times in my life.”
