A British rugby player who went missing in Barcelona last year is feared to have drowned.
Levi Davis – who was also a contestant on Celebrity X Factor – was last seen at The Old Irish Pub on 29 October.
But according to his family, a police investigation suggests his phone had last been detected at the far end of the Spanish city’s commercial port.
And that same night, cruise ship staff had tried to save a man in the water.
In a statement, the 25-year-old’s loved ones said: “Four staff confirmed seeing a man in the water with specific details including him asking for help in English and the colour of his clothing.
“A life jacket was thrown from the ship and emergency sea and air rescue services searched the area but they were unable to find him.”
His mother Julie, and friend Richard Squire, met police on Monday for an update on the investigation into his disappearance.

Inquiries into what happened are continuing, and his family and friends have asked for privacy.
The former Bath player had appeared on Celebrity X Factor in 2019 – forming a singing group with fellow rugby stars.
He was also on E4’s Celebs Go Dating a year later.
Mr Davis had signed a record deal and had gone to stay with Mr Squire in Ibiza to work on some songs.
While he said he would contact Mr Squire when he arrived in Barcelona, he never did.
