A busy bee! From working on her craft to taking care of her young kids, actress Lex Scott Davis’ life can be just as action-packed as her new show, Florida Man.
Davis, 32, plays the ex-wife of Édgar Ramirez’s Mike Valentine — a former cop who finds himself in the middle of a shady Florida treasure hunt — on the Netflix crime series, which premiered April 13. In real life, however, she’s married to The Flight Attendant’s Mo McRae, with whom she shares two children. (The pair welcomed a son and daughter in 2020 and 2022, respectively.)
The little ones help Davis get her morning started. The Superfly actress exclusively tells Us Weekly that her average day begins by dropping her and McRae’s son off at preschool. “The baby usually tags along,” she says.
With her son taken care of, the First Purge star heads off to the gym to work out with her personal trainer, Melany Centeno. “She’s helped me completely change my body,” the actress notes. “And redevelop my body.”
In addition to eating a tasty midday meal and filming brand partnership campaigns, the Rebel alum gets back to the grind by filming audition tapes at the Selfie Tapes studio in Hollywood. “When I’m not filming, most likely, I’m still auditioning,” Davis tells Us, explaining that most auditions have switched to a virtual format following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Busy schedule aside, the Maryland native always has her family to come home to at the end of a long day. After playing with her little ones, giving them baths and prepping upcoming meals, Davis wraps up her day by reading her kids a “good bedtime story.”
The Sweet Girl star takes pride in being a working mom in the entertainment industry. “I am on set in Australia, in front of the camera for the first time in a year, children by my side, crushing these 12-14 hour days with little to no sleep but with a lot of optimism. I’m overflowing with passion, patience, & gratitude,” she wrote via Instagram in March in honor of International Women’s Day. “Loving the resilient woman I’ve become and always destined to be. So, HELLO to Women & Women ONLY!”
Davis continued her empowering post: “Lean into loving on yourself more. Keep giving yourself grace. Thank God & the Universe for the obstacles that shaped exactly who you are. The world has made space for you to thrive, so do just that. .”
The A Lot of Nothing star shared a similar motivational message via Instagram in February, encouraging followers to push past “obstacles” and to know “that the universe Is conspiring in your favor.”
She added: “Speak positive outcomes into existence. Keep showing up for yourself. Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. Because when it happens, it’ll be right on time and you can proudly say you’ve already put the work in.”
