A man has been stabbed to death on a tram in Nottingham.
The man, in his 30s, was stabbed near the Highbury Vale tram stop in Basford, in the north of the city.
The incident happened at around 11.10am on Monday.
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable Kate Meynell described the incident as “tragic”.

“We know there were other passengers on board at the time and understand how frightening this must have been for anyone who saw what happened,” she said.
“Our officers were at the scene quickly and detained a suspect. He remains in police custody.”

Police have described the stabbing as an “isolated incident” and that they are “not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened this morning”.
Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident – alongside the air ambulance.
