Police say the death of a man found Friday on the side of Old Belgrade Road in Augusta was a homicide.
A motorist discovered the body of 34-year-old Tyler Robinson near the road just after 10 p.m. and called 911, according to Maine State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss. Lifesaving efforts performed at the scene were not successful. An autopsy conducted by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined the manner of death was homicide, Moss said.
Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed people running near Old Belgrade Road to contact them at 207-624-7076.
