A former Bath Iron Works pipefitter will become the next president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in January.
Brian Bryant will be the 15th president of the association. He worked at Bath Iron Works until 1998 and was an active member of Bath Iron Works’ union, Local S6, eventually becoming president of the union. He has been involved in the association for 34 years.
Bryant was most recently the general vice president, headquarters, for the association. He’s currently overseeing theCommittee on the Future Listening Sessions, where he travels North America to listen to union members give feedback for the international association.
Bryant will begin as president on Jan. 1.
