A man in a wheelchair was fatally injured by a car while he crossed an Auburn road.
The man was crossing Center Street, near the Target entrance, about 10:36 p.m. Monday when he was hit by the car, according to the Auburn Police Department.
The man wasn’t in a marked crosswalk and crossed against the flow of traffic, Auburn police said Tuesday.
He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died from his injuries.
His identity isn’t being released, pending family notification.
The crash remains under investigation.
