A nine-year-old girl has died following a crash with a tractor towing a trailer in East Ayrshire.
The schoolgirl was on her bicycle at the time of the collision on Castle Place, New Cumnock, at around 12.35pm on Monday.
Emergency services attended but the schoolgirl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Following the incident, a number of clubs and organisations announced on social media that they had cancelled plans due to the “tragic event”.
New Cumnock Development Trust (NCDT) posted: “In light of the tragic event in our community today, all NCDT activities over the coming week are now cancelled.”
Cumnock Junior Girls Football Club said all training had been cancelled.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.35pm on Monday 18 September 2023, we received a report of a crash involving a tractor towing a trailer and a nine-year-old female on her bicycle on Castle Place, New Cumnock.
“Emergency services attended but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
