FAIRFIELD, Maine — Three people were left injured after a two-vehicle crash in front of the Big Apple store on Norridgewock Road in Fairfield Thursday morning.
Police say a 72-year-old New Hampshire man failed to yield the right of way while leaving the Big Apple parking lot.
Investigators say a Lincolnville man was northbound on Norridgewock Road when his truck struck the New Hampshire man’s car. After making contact with the car, the truck continued into a ditch and broke a CMP utility pole.
The 78-year-old Maine man and his 74-year-old wife, who was a passenger in the truck, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The New Hampshire man was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center by LifeFlight.
A small black dog was seen fleeing the crash. The dog is owned by one of the people involved in the crash and is believed to still be in the area.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is underway.
